THE GREEK VAMPIRE [ reloaded ]

 

   The performance '' The Greek Vampire [ reloaded ]" in its second version deals with the chapter of Greek folklore. Although unknown to many,it concerns the phenomenon of the Vampires, as manifested in Greece in the modern times. Through calendars of foreign travelers in pre-revolutionary Greece, newspaper articles, local myths, oral traditions, and literary texts, a metaphysical bull story tells the passions and hysteria of people in front of the fear of vampires. With the body choreography and the musicality of the language as guidelines, the performance moves into the site specific logic, starting from the very creation of the space, the relation between its particular conceptual and spatial characteristics, and invites the viewer not only to follow, but to "enter" into this strange world.

    The performance "Greek Vampire" - in its first version - has been presented in various venues from 2013 until 2015.

On the occasion of the summer celebrations, the Piraeus Group Cultural Foundation (PIOP) presented the theatrical performance '' The Greek Vampire [reloaded ]" , directed by Konstantinos Ntellas, at three Museums of its Network (Museum of Artillery in Ioannina, Outdoor Hydropower Museum, at Dimitsana and Marble Crafts Museum in Tinos) as well as in the Historical Archive of PIOP in Tavros.
